South Park Phone Destroyer (Soft Launch)

A new South Park game from Ubisoft is coming to mobile and his currently in a soft launch phase in Canada. The game is called South Park Phone Destroyer and it is really inspired by Clash Royale from Supercell.

I can’t say that everything is a copy but most of the for the combat, it is mostly the same and even the unit that you will find in the game can also be found in Clash Royale.

But I have to admit that it’s been really well executed and I do think that most of the people will not feel the Clash Royale combat mechanic in it.

South Park Phone Destroyer is a game that shares lots of different mechanics from a lot of successful game on the market. This doesn’t make the game not attractive at all, in fact, the decision made by the game developers seems to me to be the right one. The copy different mechanic and mix them together in a brilliant way. So don’t expect an innovative game here but really well executed one that will have success in the mobile market.

Those ideas all put together with the brand really well translate to the game make it unique and a good experience.  So far, the game is performing pretty well in terms of monetization, from the number gather through the web, their download ratio versus revenue = 0,30$*.

Over my weekend play session, I’ve encountered some stability problem and I have to kill the game and restart it. I also found some inconsistency in the matchmaking that will possibly disappear when the game will be worldwide.

Stay tuned for more news, more detailed and possibly a game video review!
